WHAT IS THE GRADING LIMIT OF SAND FOR PLASTER WORK?
Sand used for plaster work can be natural sand, crushed stone sand or crushed gravel sand. The grading limit of sand for plaster work; for internal and external wall and ceiling should be as given in the table below.

NOTES TO REMEMBER
- In case the grading falls outside the limits of the grading zones of sieves (except 150, 300 & 600 micron IS sieves) by a total amount not exceeding 5%, it shall be regarded as falling within the gradation.
- For crushed stone sands and crushed gravel sands, the permissible limit on 150 micron IS sieve is increased to 20%.
- Fineness modulus of sand should be as per the following table.
